I literally cannot believe how quickly this month has flown by. Between being in Ontario, two weddings and friends visiting from overseas, it has been busy and wonderful. But it’s almost fall (!!)… And now we turn to fashion. I teamed up up with BC Living to talk Fall Trends, how you can get them and, most importantly, where to wear them. See the rest of the trends here.
1. FRINGE
Where to wear: Dancing
Design Lab dress, Zara trench coat (similar), Alexander Wang pumps
Whether it be a dress, skirt or purse, fringe is en vogue this year, especially during the fall season. A midi fringe skirt paired with a simple long-sleeve crop top make for the perfect autumn outfit.

Karen Kane faux suede fringe skirt
2. DUSTER COAT
Where to wear: Shopping
Zara trench (similar), Aritzia jeans, David Lerner t-shirt, Alexander Wang purse, black heels, Celine sunglasses
The duster coat is the perfect transition piece for fall. It’s light enough for those gorgeous fall days and can easily be layered up as it gets colder. The ankle length is extremely slimming, but be sure to add heels if you’re short!

3. MINIMALISM
Where to wear: Art/Restaurant opening
Zara sweater, skirt; Nine West shoes
Minimalism all about keeping everything one colour, though there’s plenty of room to play with proportions to achieve that restrained, cool look.

4. SUEDE
Where to wear: Office to afterwork cocktails
AllSaints top, AllSaints skirt; Browns shoes (similar); Alexander Wang bag, Celine sunglasses
A suede pencil skirt with buttons is the perfect way to incorporate my love of the 70’s trend without becoming a slave to it. A simple white tank keeps the look office appropriate, but still chic enough to go for drinks after.

5. MENSWEAR
Where to wear: Power lunch
Asos hat, Zara coat, Vince pants
Any woman can rock menswear; it’s all about adapting it to your own personal style. A pantsuit is a great option, especially paired with a gorgeous set of pumps to polish off the look with sleek sophistication.

6. SLIP DRESS
Where to wear: Date night
Aritzia slip dress (similar), leather jacket, Isabel Marant boots
I love wearing a slip dress because it’s timeless, yet sexy in an understated way. It’s very versatile and can be dressed up with a beautiful statement necklace, or dressed down with a chic leather motorcycle jacket.

thank you love!
Slip dresses are my obsession right now! I think they’d look great with chunky sweaters and cardigans.
