HALO LASER TREATMENT

A few months ago, I had a Halo laser skin treatment. For those of you that don’t know, Halo is a hybrid fractional laser that improves fine lines, pigmentation, skin tone, and evenness with less downtime than the traditional Fraxel laser (2+ weeks vs. 5 days). I went to Compass Dermatology in Toronto (I’d been there before for microdermabrasion and an oxygen facial). In the video, I show you before and after, talk about the pros and cons of the laser and let you know if I think it’s worth it. I hope this is helpful!

I was given this treatment gratis by Compass Dermatology and was asked to review it IF I liked it (and I do!)

Halo technique will be implemented, when it comes to doing a total skin rejuvenation. Depending on the extent of sun damage, the number of treatments is figured out. The duration of the treatment depends on the area treated. You might find the initial results after four to five days of the treatment. But the condition of the skin will improve over time. As face is the most recognized brand, so you have to follow the right non-invasive procedure for skin rejuvenation.

Thank you for your video! I’m am heavily considering halo I’m concerned that it’s going to hurt bad lol. On a scale of 1-10 how bad? I have two children and am thinking of having it done on a Monday and giving myself until the following Monday before I have to truly go out in public.

      Hi Krista!

I think that would be more than sufficient for time. It does hurt, I won’t lie, but you can ask your dermatologist for some pain medication to use beforehand.

      xx Jill

Hi Jill. Thank you for your blog on the Halo. I have been searching for days on what to expect because I am now on day 5 and I am extremely red still. Not much peeling yet either. My face feels very uncomfortable, irritated. Your blog helped me a lot. I am 56 so I’m sure I have a lot more sun damage and maybe that is why my recovery is taking longer than expected.

Today is Thursday, 5/12/22. I had my first Halo today. Holy.Heat. I was not prepared for the smell of burning skin, either. She applied numbing cream 30 minutes prior to starting. Luckily, they offered Laughing Gas, which is the only way I was able to go through with it because I got extremely anxious when she put the goggles on me. I was ready to call the whole thing off but decided to use the Laughing Gas. It helped a lot.
My medical spa, Aya, did not offer the cooling fan you mentioned. I actually had my A/C in my car blasting on my face on the drive home because it felt so good. As soon as the A/C was not on it, though, the heat was back with a vengence. Not unlike burning your finger and the ice makes it feel SO much better until you remove the ice. It took about 2 hours for the heat to subside. It is now3 hours post procedure and my skin feels very tight like I have applied a facial mask.

I would strongly suggest having someone go with you to drive you home. I immediately took Advil when I got home (cannot take Tylenol) and had some wine. I was planning to go back to the office Monday, but after watching your video, I think I am going to need until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Glad it’s behind me and as of right now, I am saying “never again.” Mine was discounted 25% during Aya’s “Open House” so I paid $1,125.
