I had the immense pleasure of joining Lubov Azria of BCBG Max Azria for a private dinner party at La Pentola this past Saturday evening. As Vancouver is such a casual, West Coast city, I took this opportunity to actually dress up! I absolutely loved the colour of this BCBG dress, and it fit so well that by the time the delicious dinner was over, I could barely breathe into the perfectly-fitted, corseted top.

As I put together my outfit for the evening, I started to think about what makes a look original and effortlessly unforgettable:

1. Keep your beauty routine simple: do either a dark eye or bright lip and don’t overdo it      on the hair; effortlessly chic is always better than a structured updo.

2. A great tip that Europeans (especially the French) do very well is to juxtapose a formal cocktail dress with a casual element like beachy waves, super minimal and natural makeup or layered bracelets.

3. Don’t try too hard! Wear what you feel comfortable in and what will be comfortable until the end of the evening. As cheesy as it sounds, confidence is what makes any outfit unforgettable.

Do you guys have any tips for an unforgettable look?
