These photos were actually an accident. A girlfriend of mine, who knows what she’s doing with a camera, was fiddling with mine while shooting for NewFoodieFoods, and this overexposure was the outcome. It was also one of those days where the little things all really add up and seriously set you off and by the time I figured out the camera, it had started to rain (grrr). Anyways, these were the only photos that we got and I actually love them. Somehow they capture exactly how I’m feeling and exactly how I want this outfit to look. How artistic of me.
I’m finding myself going through a pretty big transition period. Between a pretty massive breakup, new job, and general young adult life anxieties, times are changing and I’m kind of grappling with it. Sometimes the hard part is just being with it (change, etc.), and not trying to fix everything that can’t necessarily be fixed.
Needless to say, my stress and anxiety levels are definitely not the lowest these days. How do you guys deal with these inevitable transition periods? Help!
I reach for chocolate…..not exactly originally but it most certainly helps!!

Those changes in life can be so overwhelming! I can totally relate! What I usually end up doing is focusing on a project and try to keep thing generally positive. I try to eat well and exercise – it helps for my mind to feel a little better. You’ll get through it! And all the tough situations in my life have only made me stronger – I’m sure it’ll be the same for you! 🙂
Love the look – those shoes are so freaking gorgeous!

i think you have the first big step down – accepting the changes instead of fighting them is the best way to move forward. That, and trying to realize that everything is going to work out in the end… which isn’t all that easy to believe DURING the hard times, but you’ll see in retrospect. Other than that, a nice massage and a reasonable amount of retail therapy 🙂

First, thank you for being so open and sharing your personal life with your loyal fans! It’s always refreshing when a blogger exposes their true self both through fashion and story-telling. I’m sorry to hear things aren’t going well for you during this time. As I reflect on my bad moments, I realize that all bad things seem to fall together, and things can only be better and brighter moving forward. I usually try my best to divert my attention and energy to new projects, or places where I can grow and learn – travelling, taking courses, joining fitness classes just to name a few.
