I’ve been living in a version of this outfit on the weekends as of late. It’s comfy, easy and the hat is a no-brainer for those mornings when you just want to roll out bed and head straight to brunch. It’s also comprised of a lot of classic pieces, which reminded me of an old Elle magazine story I kept from years ago: 25 Pieces Every Woman Should Own. A leather jacket, worn-in jeans and the classic striped tee were included.

Before I got a laptop and a Pinterest account, I would spend ages pouring over magazines and tearing out pages that I loved or that inspired me. I had boxes and boxes of them. I think I still have some. It’s fascinating to look back and see what was trendy (and awful) and how some pieces just never go out of style.
