how to elevate an all black outfit

I’m actually not the biggest watch person anymore… at least not after the gold Michael Kors watch that I wore religiously during the early 2000’s (you know what I’m talking about). I always find a watch makes me look too refined, and I like to look a bit more edgy + effortless.

Anyway, when Cluse sent over their affordable black + gold watch, I liked that it was tomboyish, simple and very cool (my boyfriend hates it when I use that word, by honestly there’s no other word for it!) And when I got the opportunity to shoot in Palm Springs, I immediately fantasized about an all black editorial in the desert. I love the lack of colour against the muted stone, dirt + sky. But how to elevate an all black outfit (this is my standard dilemma…)? It’s all in the accessories. Try a watch. Add a hat. Wear a unique pair of sunglasses. It adds an intriguing element to the otherwise blank (but by no means basic) look.
