Winter style really does me in. I don’t understand how you can look stylish and versatile every day. If you only have one incredibly warm coat, then don’t you always look the same? Needless to say, I have a lot of respect for stylish women of Central/Eastern Canada (if you have any tips, please let me know!). In other news, I finally got a down coat. An actual, warm coat. And thank the lord, because I ended up being caught in a -40° weekend (GAH).
In other, other news, I also invested in a new camera! I have been researching and saving up for months and finally took the plunge on a Canon 6D with a Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens (the lens itself outweighs the camera). This was one of the first shoots I did with it (and the first shoot the boy did!) and I’m so happy with my purchases. I’m by no means a professional photographer (and I normally don’t shoot with one) but I am learning about photography more and more and I love how easy this camera is to navigate.

Growing up in Manitoba where the winters are crazy cold, it can be difficult to look stylish all the time. But I used to do lots of layers so that I could still wear a nice coat. Like tights under jeans and socks too, tank tops, t-shirts, sweaters, you name it. Layer it!!

Sigma lenses are my favorite! I used to be all about the Nikon lenses but I find I actually like my sigma art lens (the 35mm) better!

Who normally takes your photos if you don’t hire a professional? Do you fee like with a nice camera, friends or anyone can take good pics? Your pics are always amazing!

Thanks Serene! My boyfriend and I have learned a lot about photography over the past few years and have created an aesthetic for the blog. A good camera can do lots, but only if you know how to use it. I shoot all my photos in manual mode, which can take some time to learn how to do! Start with a more basic camera, take a class or teach yourself how to use it and then spend a little more money 🙂
