utilitarian summer

ever since i saw the leather and army veda jacket on jessica alba, i’ve wanted one. i think that’s part of why i feel in love with leather sleeves (hence my handmade bruce springsteen tee). thanks to zara for coming out with an affordable and still adorable version. i paired the jacket with a very old pair of shorts that i found in my father’s closet, shrank and cut off. they are my favorite jean shorts and didn’t cost anything! (ps my boyfriend hates them- go figure). the ankle sandals added some height to my legs (heels make every pair of legs look better!) and dressed up the outfit. i would wear this out for dinner or drinks on a summer evening!

in other news, my darling sister leaves for madagascar tomorrow. yes, in africa. she’s gone for a month to look at some primates (insert sob here). i will miss her a ton, but am wishing her an amazing and eye-opening adventure!
