The thing about lingerie-inspired dressing is that it is just that: an inspiration. You need to be seriously careful that you don’t walk out the door looking like you’re actually wearing lingerie. Because, let’s face it, that’s kind of inappropriate for a day to day look. Fashion tends to borrow from many inspirational sources: nature, art, street style, etc. This is all good and well as long as you don’t look like you actually put on a painting or walked out the bedroom door and straight to the street.

With that in mind, lingerie dresses have been all over the runways this fall and can be stunningly slinky when done correctly. Keep your makeup and accessories simple and chic (refrain from red lips in this instance) as to not look overdone and maintain that effortless air. A warm and oversized menswear coat is a must-have, especially for us Canadians, as lingerie dresses just aren’t sufficient in this weather. My footwear option of choice is a pair of booties with a slight heel to give some lift to your silhouette while grounding this alluring look.

Have an amazing weekend everyone!

Oh la la! Look whose giving me some serious Louis Vuitton vibes! Way to pull off the lingerie look without giving off ‘I need to be in the bedroom vibes’!
