inspiration

Ever since I started reading magazines (about age 11; my first was an Allure), I’ve been tearing out pages that have inspired me. I still have about 200 of them in a folder that I go back to from time to time. I now also have a digital folder with images I’ve collected, which are much more environmentally and spatially appropriate. They finally ended up coming in handy at school for a styling class assignment on inspiration. What struck me was the creativity it took to interpret something non-fashion into an outfit or a shoot concept. It’s so easy to look at a photograph and copy the outfit, but it takes skill and creativity to concoct an original idea from an abstract picture that has absolutely nothing to do with fashion. Definitely something I’m working on. Enjoy.
