black betty

A girlfriend recently returned from Europe and we got to chatting about how no one ever wears sweatpants or even Lululemons over there across the pond. It’s a funny phenomenon that seems to be contained to North America. It’s so common here in Vancouver to wear your workout clothes to get groceries or run errands, but you never see it in Europe. Which I kind of LOVE (I always feel overdressed here in Vancouver). My friend had a conversation with a French gentleman about it and he explained that it was actually kind of insulting to whomever you see or meet while out and about to not put some effort into your appearance. It shows that you care enough to take some time to make yourself look presentable. And it also feels good to look good. Which is probably why those French women look so fabulous ALL the time. Maybe us North Americans don’t look quite as chic while trolling the city, but the next you’re running out the door, how about grabbing your most comfortable dress, or jeans instead? Voila.

I would like to wish the happiest of birthdays to my best friend in the whole world and the best person I know, my darling sister, Maddie. I love you!

Totally with you on this one. I really don’t understand why you would wear stretchy pants to run errands. Not only are they sloppy, but nobody wants to see that much of you! Those Lululemon pants are so tight!

Either way, loving your look today! I love a comfortable black dress -and I love that you paired it with all black accessories!

PREACH! If I’m feeling bummy and want to be comfy, I at LEAST wear a maxi or cute leggings. Sweats and yoga pants have no place in my closet – I don’t even own any!

Love todays look though, fab as usual! xx

Thanks girl! I totally agree! You can be comfy without looking like a slob!
