the other night i went to vancouver designer Jason Matlo’s trunk show at Fine Finds in Yaletown. the lovely Tina of initialed invited me along with some other bloggers. the dresses were gorgeous, especially the draping. however i didn’t end up getting anything except for a little trinket for my darling sister when we are reunited next month.

the outfit i wore was inspired by a friend of mine from London. i’ve always wanted to wear tights with jean shorts, but i kind of forgot about it until i saw them on her. the boots definitely help with leg lengthening, as i find my legs can look a bit stubby if im not careful.

in other news, an old friend of mine recently contacted me about Indego x JCrew fair trade bracelets. i immediately jumped at the chance to support it, as i think it’s so important to create business where it’s needed instead of just donating money. here’s how it works: Indego teams up with retailers across the world and talented Rwandan women to sell their beautiful wares. these women are paid a fair wage, including 50% before production to get them going. 100% of the profits are returned to Indego’s training programs taught by local talent to aid in Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Financial Management and Computers. and the good news is these bracelets are very beautiful (i am wearing one below)! you can find more information about Indego here and buy the bracelets (they come in a few colours) here!
