i’ve been quite obsessed with this neckline for a while. but such a high-cut racerback can be hard to wear for anyone with a bust because usually it doesn’t accommodate a bra. however, this one fit wonderfully without one (and was comfortable… besides the spanx underneath). while thinking about how to style the dress, i realized that the easy way would be with a simple pair of heels, but i always try to step out of the box a little bit- i don’t really like to look like everyone else. so i went for black booties and a matching red lip. normally, i would never ever condone wearing a below the knee-length skirt/dress with ankle boots because it can cut you off and make your legs look short and stumpy. maybe it was because of the high platform heel, but either way, i liked how it looked, regardless of my leg height. (but if the hem was any longer it definitely wouldn’t have worked). i love how booties made the dress look a bit edgier and less dressy. i always try to look a little bit undone, but obviously effortless so. duh.

in other news, i was surprised and oh-so-excited to learn that i won the Style Says blazer challenge last week. the photo is from an older post, but it was my favourite outfit with a blazer thus far… check it out here!

dress: Zara (similar here, $20 here) | shoes: Trouve (splurge, save) | jewelry: Jeweliq, Michael Kors (love this), vintage (similar, love this and this)
